Hotel History

Stanton Manor is steeped in history. The original house was listed in the Domesday Book and was later held by Elizabeth I's Lord High Treasurer and Chief Minister, Lord Burghley. Nowadays all that remains of the original manor is the dovecote, although the large stone fireplaces that adorn the present 19th-century building were salvaged from the original house.

A stone's throw from Bath

The surrounding area also has a rich heritage. The City of Bath is only 15 minutes' drive away from the Stanton Manor hotel. Bath is one of the world's great cities. Nestled in the Cotwold hills

Stanton Manor hotel is located in the Cotswolds. This is the name given to a geographical feature, a series of gentle, rolling hills between Bath and Stratford-upon-Avon, located around 90 minutes' travel time from London.
